Student Outreach
On April 19th, Jim Sellers of The Sellers Group visited Coastal Carolina University. Jim spoke to Paul Olsen's class about the advertising industry as well as critique student portfolios and answer questions.
Students from the Arts Academy attend the March CAMP meeting. They had the opportunity to introduce themselves and mingle with adverting & marketing professionals.
During the March meeting, Amanda Bridges of Horry-Georgetown Technical College spoke to CAMP members about interships at HGTC. Three students also attended to help hand out intership applications.
On March 29, CAMP visited the Academy of Arts, Science and Technology for a career roundtable. The four member professional panel included backgrounds in graphic designer, sales and marketing, agency traffic management and a HGTC Digital Arts professor. Each panel member described their job experience and discussed how education relates to the workforce. Student were encouraged to interact and ask questions.
HGTC Portfolio/Reverse Job Fair: April 18-19, 2006
CAMP provided judges to come through and critique student work. Critique sheets created by CAMP and used by the judges were filled out and given to each participating students. Thanks to CAMPers Tom Collins, Jeff Thompson, Tim Parry and Encore Video for judging.
On April 10, Coastal Carolina University's morning graphic design class visited LHWH Advertising & PR for a little shadowing. This group of future designers were shown the ropes of an advertising agency by having direct contact with AEs, media and designers. The students where shown around each department of the agency to learn their responsibilities.
Many thanks to Shannon Thompson, Creative Director for Next Media Outdoor, for sharing her knowledge with Francis Marion Students. On April 20th, Shannon visited Gregory Fry's graphic design class for a portfolio review day.

Steve Muirhead and Chase Mitchell, high school student,   completed their internships at LHWH Advertising & PR. During their Senior Exhibition presentation CAMP President, Paulette Johnson and CAMP member, Al Bunal were part of the final grading process.
